Indie vendors who make and sell their own original handmade contemporary crafts, artwork, and packaged foods are invited to apply. Types of items that can be sold at DUCF include, but are not limited to: accessories, apparel, art prints, bath and body products, ceramics, glass, greeting cards, housewares, jewelry, paper goods, packaged artisan food, photography, textiles, and toys. 

Part of what makes DUCF unique is the interaction between maker and buyer, so we require makers to be present on the sale days. Please do not apply if you will not be able to attend the entire weekend. We do not accept vendors of un-modified vintage resale or anything mass-produced. 

A special note about food vendors: As part of our catering agreement, items for sale by craft food vendors must be packaged and intended for consumption off-site. Vendors may not serve fresh items or drinks for on-site consumption. If you would like to potentially sell food for shoppers to enjoy at the fair, there are a limited number of concession booths available, and we would love to hear from you here.

Yes! Two vendors are allowed to split a Regular, Wall, or Corner Booth. Collectives, co-ops or studios of more than two people are welcome to apply to our co-op booth level as long as one or more of the artists will be present at all times. In these instances, please, fill out one application together. Make sure to write the business names of all companies on the application and include information and photos from all participants. If some content can’t be included in a co-op application due to space constraints, you can email any addendums here. For co-op or two-vendor booth applications, pick one person to be your e-mail and address contact and submit one application fee.

Aligned brick-and-mortar shops who wish to sell at the fair are welcome to inquire about sponsorship at a level that allows an on-site brick-and-mortar booth by emailing us here.

DUCF is juried by a team of experienced artists, makers, and retail buyers. Vendors are selected based on quality, originality, and price point, and are assessed as a group to make sure the show is cohesive and has a good mix of vendors. We try to keep a distribution of types of vendors and some categories are more competitive than others. We do our best to keep a balance between beloved long-time DUCF vendors and new makers to keep the fair fresh. If you’ve applied before and didn’t get in, please feel encouraged to apply again as each year brings a new mix of applicants. We receive many more applications than we have booths available, so unfortunately we cannot welcome every vendor to participate, even if they have participated before. 

In addition to vendors who are readily accepted, we also create a waitlist with runners-up in each category. We typically have a few cancellations each year and will pull from the waitlist in these cases.

A six-foot table and two chairs are included with each Regular or Wall booth. Corner booths will include two six-foot tables and two chairs. Student booths will include half of an eight-foot table and one chair. Studio or Co-Op booths include up to three tables, and two chairs. All vendors in non-Student booths may choose to set up without the table(s), but all vendors must keep their displays within the designated and assigned space. 

Access to power is available to all vendors. There is also wifi available, but due to the traffic and size of the space, many vendors prefer to use their own hot spots or cell phone data. 

Now in its 21st year, DUCF is Michigan’s premier indie craft fair. A highly regarded and carefully curated show, the fair draws 7,000 attendees over the course of the weekend. 

The fair is supported by a major advertising and media push and many vendors report that this fair is the most lucrative one that they participate in each year. In addition to making sales, many vendors also make important connections with other makers, retail buyers, and members of the press and community.  

All vendors will also be linked on the DUCF website for the next calendar year to help connect with customers and the public before, during, and after the fair. 

There are a range of booth types available with different costs and amenities, as detailed below. New this year we are offering Student and Studio or Co-op booths to make the fair accessible to more makers.

Booth prices this year are as follows:

• $425 for a classic Regular Booth, which includes a 6x8 foot space, a six foot table, and two chairs.

• $475 for a Wall Booth, which includes a 6x8 foot space in a more prominent row, with wall space behind you to augment your display, a six foot table, and two chairs.

• $575 for a Corner Booth, which includes a bigger, two-sided 6x9 foot space in a more visible location, with two six foot tables, and two chairs.

• $250 for a mini Student booth designed for emerging makers, which includes a smaller 4x4 area, including half of an eight-foot table. Using this table is not optional for this booth level. 

• $800 for a Studio or Co-op Booth, which includes an XL 10’x10’ space designed to be shared by a cohesive group of artists. This booth would be located against a wall, and could come with up to three six-foot tables, as requested, and two chairs. 

Booths will be assigned by our jury, based on which options are selected on your application. 

If accepted, payment information and deadlines for your booth fees will be included in your acceptance notice. 

Due to rental costs and planning we undertake months in advance, application and booth fees, and any other additional payments are non-refundable. 

• Be sure your application is complete! If there are missing or incomplete fields we will not be able to consider your application.

• Use high-quality photos that really showcase your work. Be sure they are in focus and show the breadth of what you do.

• We love vendors that are focused and cohesive. If you make many different kinds of things, pick one or a couple that work well together to apply with and bring.

• If you have vended at DUCF before, be sure to let us know what’s new in your application.

• Be sure that your application truly represents the breadth and scope of what you plan to bring to the fair.
